Kings Of Leon: Use Somebody (RAC Remix)

The remix gods RAC are untouchable. It's always a struggle to pick just ONE song to post! As described by The Riverfront Times:
"Unlike many electronic remixes, which are commonly technical and precise, RAC mixes embody a unique aesthetic based around emotion and nuance, an almost intangible warmth and innate playfulness."
I'd tend to agree! This Kings of Leon remix barely rose above the highly competitive RAC songs I want to post, and its quite the listen! Don't worry though, there will be more RAC on the horizon!
I just love the beginning few seconds, and the tiny, caring changes RAC makes are perfect for the song! Enjoy!

Daughter: Youth

Real beautiful song here. The original by Daughter is heartfelt and tender and lovely and quite enjoyable with its fantastic female vocals.
The Isoline remix takes the track in a whole new direction with male vocals and more distortion, echoes, and dreaminess, which i'm also a huge fan of! Both of these tracks are great! Enjoy!

Swedish House Mafia: Don't You Worry Child (EDM)

I'm sure you've heard this (or soon will) on the radio. It's a fitting final song for a pretty incredible trio of producers who had quite the impressive run with some MASSIVE songs. Love or hate them, they've left an indelible mark on EDM music, and this track is a winner. Pretty sweet music video, boy does that concert look like an experience! Enjoy!

Satellite Stories: Sirens

I posted Satellite Stories in the nascent stages of the blog, and I believe the time has come to pump some new life into this Finnish foursome of fierce and frolicking frivolity and fervor! They're wonderful! I think that they're steadily climbing the charts to cement themselves amongst my favorite few bands! They're infectiously catchy, have great lyrics, sweet accents, and a pulsing, untamable energy that is rarely matched! I think they're literally one big break away from being the next Two Door Cinema Club! They just seem so genuine and sincere and heartfelt and great and ahhh and wow and my goodness go buy their album!!!!!!
Enough typing Miles, show them these extraordinary gentlemen! With pleasure!

So good! So earnest and excited and vibrant! Their music videos are all so awesome!

If you like stupendous, monumental, fun-loving music, then seriously, go buy their debut album (which is FINALLY on iTunes, I've waited lifetimes for this moment). Here's the link to make it all the easier!
Want to know the best part? The Anti-lover video comes with the album when you buy it on iTunes!
No, no, want to know the real best part? These aren't even their best songs! You're in for so much more!
No, no, no! Really, really, the best part is that I'm getting to write about music that I love and getting to share it with all of you, which is magical, so thank you all for listening!

STRFKR: Rawnald Gregory Erickson The Second

STRFKR? What the hell does that mean? Is it an acronym? Wait! When I say it out loud it sounds like a bad word mixed with that which twinkles in the sky! Now I get it! How, you may ask, was such a unique name chosen?
The band chose the name "Starfucker" based on the curiosity of how far they could get "with a stupid name like that."
Well there you have it folks. That 'stupid name' seems to have gotten the band pretty far, if their music has anything to say about it. Why don't you give them a listen and see for yourself! Enjoy!

If that tickled your fancy, take a gander at this lil' pumpkin of a track! Quite the title!

P.S. Download links on respective soundcloud pages.

Madonna: Girl Gone Wild (Avicii Remix)

Yes, I'm posting Madonna. Yes, the song is called 'Girl Gone Wild'. Don't hate! (Actually feel free to hate, it's understandable). I'm feeling something a little crazy is necessary to herald everyones triumphant return to college (or high school, or just post-thanksgiving life) and to usher in the wild weeks ahead filled with finals, The Hobbit...and everything in between, before we depart for Christmas break. This song has some pretty serious kick to it at the drop--for Avicci at least--and seems to get people dancing. Brace yourself for 1:12 and enjoy! I'd suggest good speakers and some bass for this one!

Noah & The Whale: Tonight's The Kind of Night (RAC Remix)

Remember what I said about all 'Whale' bands being awesome? Well the pattern holds. Oh, and RAC is always awesome, that's just kind of a known universal fact. This song (and most of Noah & The Whales stuff) is tender and full of heart, with just enough upbeat happiness to get you dancing, but with just the right blend of slow, lovely stuff to get you off the dance floor and out into a field of grass to look up longingly at the stars...I'm like a tree, the sap is just dripping off me! Enjoy this one!

P.S. We're going to pretend this post was put up early in the morning of the 24th, because, I--for once--intend on going to sleep at a reasonable hour.

I.O.U. : That Bob Marley Song (Hip-Hop)

This song is just fun! Great sample, very laid back, reminds you that there is so much to be thankful for, and to calm down and remember that everything is going to be all right! Sweet vibe and great to drive to! Enjoy!

The New Pornographers: The Spirit Of Giving

In the spirit of providing all of you with new music, and in the the spirit of Thanksgiving, here is a band whose music I am most thankful for, and who happen to have a song called 'The Spirit of Giving' which talks about holiday spirit and all that jazz! A.C. Newman and Neko Case's lyrics and voices always take me to a great place, and this song is no exception! Enjoy!

Yael Naim: New Soul

This is probably one of the most heartwarming and fun-loving music videos I've ever seen. Excited for the future, accepting of the present, and with a great voice, Yael Naim is just a bundle of positivity! Enjoy!

Adventure Club: Need Your Heart ft. Kai (Minnesota Remix) (Fairly Chill-step)

A very nice seven minute trip with the right blend of Kai's vocals, bass, and background bouncyness! Minnesota finds that perfect blend between dub-y and lovely, and actually slows down the original track a great deal. Enjoy!

Neon Indian: Polish Girl

1.) Frisbee tournaments are not conducive to keeping abreast with blog posts.

2.) Homecooked meals and sleeping ungodly amounts over Thanksgiving break has never sounded better.

3.) Neon Indians' 'Polish Girl' is a synth-tastic indie pop experience filled with robot-love, bleeps and bloops to have you whistling for days, and enough infectiousness to warrant CDC interference. Loving those sounds from 3:59 on! Enjoy!

4.) Soo true...

Little Comets: Jennifer

This song is a mind explosion!! If you love sweaters, jolly times, and wholesome goodness then listen to this song! When you hear the "la la las" you will literally BURST with enthusiasm! First time I heard this song I was like... oh snap... Well enough of my nonsense... listen to it would you? And have a dandy day.

Kid Cudi: The Prayer (Hip-Hop)

Doesn't get much better than Kid Cudi rapping over a Band of Horses sample. I mean, yes, Stephen Colbert being president, ice cream always being close at hand, and world peace and puppies for everyone would be nice, but in the time being, I'll settle for this.
That intro man...gorgeous. Enjoy this great track!

Franz Ferdinand: Come On Home

Is everyone familiar with Franz Ferdinand's big hit 'Take Me Out'? If your answer was no, look it up and remember that yes, in fact, you actually were familiar with it, it's rather catchy. Less well known is who that guy actually is, if it's in fact just one guy, and does he/they have more music?
Well, turns out that they are a band made up of four members, they're named after Archduke Franz Ferdinand whose assassination helped spark World War I, and yes, they do indeed have other music!
'Come On Home' is a very nice track with nearly the catchyness of 'Take Me Out', and with more nice, sudden slowed down parts. All in all, a cool sound. Enjoy!

St. Lucia: Before The Dive

I'm awestruck by this. Simply blown away. I saw these guys opening for Two Door Cinema Club a few weeks back and they were seriously unparalleled, almost making me sad when Two Door Cinema Club came on. Their live show was incredible and the sounds they made so euphoric and creative: I'd really heard nothing like it.
Now here they come along and make one of the most beautiful music videos I've seen in a long, long time. SERIOUSLY?!?!?! Is there nothing Jean-Philip Grobler and the rest of St. Lucia can't do? This song really does something for me, it just transports you along the ascending and descending waves of sound and you're left bracing yourself before the cold and brutal dive of the end. Really, really well done video, beautiful song, a lovely voice, and electronic noises that could make Spock cry! 1080p this sumptuous synthphony, full screen to your hearts content and prepare to be transported! Enjoy this truly mind blowing (you'll see exactly why in a second) experience!

Cazzette: Beam Me Up (MASSIVE EDM Song and Video)

This video is so sweet! I can't wait for the alien invaders if this is what it's like! Cazzette brings some major heat with this song that you really can't help but dance to. If you want to treat yourself to a 3 minute 42 second feast of visuals and sound, full screen this bad boy, change the quality to 1080p, pop on some killer headphones, and prepare to be beamed up to unprecedented levels of euphoria!

Miniature Tigers: Cannibal Queen

I hereby present some mellow mid-day monday Miniature Tigers musical magic.
Goofy music video, great lyrics, sweet band! Check them out! Enjoy!

Oh My God! This is the 111th post on here, and it's November 11th! How remarkably auspicious!

Viceroy: Chase Us Around feat. Madi Diaz (Funky!)

It may have rained today in perpetually-warm Redlands, and I have nothing against winter weather, but I intend to hang on to good-felling summer music for at least a bit longer! No-one does upbeat summer music like Viceroy: this guy is legendary. Every song feels like you've got the entire undersea band from The Little Mermaid playing along just for your enjoyment. I really can't describe any of songs in any terms beyond, "perfect for summer". Seriously, if you're ever feeling dark or gloomy, every Viceroy song is sure to turn your frown upside down and into a bumping beach party. Check out his soundcloud for oodles of other summer songs! Enjoy this original song!

If you're digging the summer vibe, here's another of my favorites of his. This ones funky fresh!

Foster The People: I Would Do Anything For You

Just a real feel good song. The "ooh la la, I'm falling in love" part is so catchy and lovely, and then dat whole "I'll smile when you speak" part is all lovey-dovey and mushy-gushy, and they just bring it all together with a wonderful beat and infectious energy. Rainy day brightener, bright day improver, and necessary part of any 'best' day, foster some gratitude from your ears by reminding yourself just how good this song is.

Foxes: White Coats (Xaphoon Jones In The Zone Remix)

Due to a recent query on the facebook page inquiring, "Where all the white women at?", I hereby present Foxes, a very chill, quite talented young lady by the name of Louisa Rose Allen. This remix of her track 'White Coats' has some real cool parts, some sweet vocals, and trap-esque distortions that I'm really digging. Halfway through it picks up a bit with a tranquil build, but never overpowers its own laid back vibe. Enjoy!

Finding the name Foxes familiar? Probably because her song 'Youth' is one of the coolest songs in existence once Adventure Club got a hold of it. If you've been living under a rock or in an alternate world where Romney won the election, here's 'Youth', a wild, wondrous dubstep ride through soundgasms. This song is 100% incredible!

Oh yah, I almost forgot...Hell yah Obama! #2termz

Carousel: Let's Go Home (Sound Remedy Remix)

Sound Remedy blow my mind with what they do. This is the third or fourth remix of theirs that I've posted, and for good reason. Every song they touch turns into pure gold, and even more importantly, they choose extremely high quality songs to begin with. Always highlighting some great indie artist, Sound Remedy are a bright, cheery remedy to any lack of sound!
This song makes my shoulders move like I'm dodging bullets in the matrix. The build is so drawn out and exciting, and I kind of think this is what I would want playing right before I went skydiving! Whatever magic they work at 1:13, I'm not complaining. It's incredible, I think this is one of the coolest songs I've heard in the last few months. Enjoy and snag a free download! (Hmm, click on the the title of the song in the soundcloud link and it'll take you to soundcloud page where there doth lurk a download button!)

Jared Evan: Charlie Brown (Remix ft. Wax, Emilio Rojas & Tayyib Ali) (Hip-Hop)

This post has been rated PG-13 by The Self Regulating Sumptuous Synthphonies Blog Association (SRSSBA)...yah, it's a super catchy acronym. Be jealous.

There is the slightest bit of swearing in this song, but the lovely Charlie Brown sample, and the overall vibe of the track more than redeem it in my eyes. The song really starts at 30 seconds, but the opening sample gets me so stoked for the song! Jared Evan provides some great main vocals, and then three other rappers jump on the track and spit the more PG-13 parts, but are equally cool! I'm really digging this one, I've had it on repeat the last few days. If you're searching for something Hip-hop related will get you ready for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, this is your best (and perhaps only) bet! Enjoy!

Alesso: Years (EDM)

Feel good build. Feel good piano. Feel good drop. Feel good vocals. This track just feels good! Enjoy!

Slow Magic: Sorry Safari (LeGinge Remix)

Slow Magic pretty much sum themselves up in their band name. They are slow...and magical! 'Sorry Safari' is a journey through rising and falling synths, gorgeous little electronic shenanigans and a haunting female vocal urging one to "escape" every few minutes. The build heightens your euphoria until 1:12 when all awesomeness breaks forth! Don't let your ears "escape" this gem! Enjoy!

Hey Marseilles: To Travels And Trunks

Look at that fun loving bunch! Packed wagon if I've ever seen one. This bundle of joyous indie vagabonds have some truly beautiful songs, and I love everything from their purely instrumental tracks to their crooning ballads. 'To Travels And Trunks' is a gorgeous little song that is over far too soon for its own good. Matt Bishops piercingly awesome voice penetrates the lovely accompaniment of drumbourine's, mandolins, trumpets, cellos, and a viola, and creates something truly memorable. Enjoy, and be sure to go to their website (link below) where there are free downloads of many of their quality songs! Without further ado, feast your ears!

James Egbert: Back To New (3LAU Remix) (EDM)

3LAU destroys this. He remixes things to the max! He has yet to make a single original song, yet somehow has reached over 100,000 facebook fans and plays sold-out shows, which is a huge anomaly for a remix artist! Perhaps after hearing the vocally spiced and diced, built up and dropped down banger 'Back To New' you'll understand his killer formula! Heard this balsting a few places this Halloween and had to share it! Enjoy!

P.S. If you really like this song, don't download it illegally because 3LAU is giving all proceeds to an organization called Pencils For Promise, so buy it!
